About Me
I grew up in the great state of California, born and raised in SoCal. I went to college in Southern California, studied abroad in Europe for my junior year and graduated in four years. I decided to take some time off before going back to school to get my graduate degree in History and during that time, I moved to the East Coast and then the Midwest where I currently make my home. After two long years of moving, working, and realizing I don’t like the corporate world, I finally started a graduate education to pursue the career I have always wanted to have. Three years later, I have completed my MA in British History, and will be obtaining a PhD in Religious History of the Early Modern Period (think post-Reformation religious quagmires).
I love to read. Love, love, love it. My favorite book is L’Inferno and I hope to be able to read it in Italian someday. I love the Harry Potter series, any well-written historical fiction, and pretty much any non-fiction history book I can get my hands on. I’m also really crafty – I can sew, crochet, knit, and quilt and I primarily use that when I am sitting in front of the tv so my mind doesn’t turn into mush. I love doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, kakuro, and various other puzzle games which also keep my brain from turning to mush. Of course, since starting grad school, I haven’t had time to do any of these things, but whatever. And since it seems as though it might put a better slant on what I am writing – I am a single woman in her late-20s. I don’t think that’s necessary to know, but some of you may think it is.
So this is me. My blog is pretty much just me. I need a place to put down my thoughts (a tangled bunch, for sure). If you want to comment on it, please do. The free exchange of ideals is so important in our society today.
Author’s note: I have a personal policy to not change my blogs after they have been published. I have tried to keep that one rule sacred for this blog, but I have realized that if I find spelling/grammar errors in what I have written, I feel compelled to correct them because it just looks bad and is actually a pet peeve of mine. With that said, once it is published, it is my vow that I will never change the actual content or meaning of my writing.
Thank you for adding me to your blogroll.
